What is Event Management?

Event Management is the supervision of all logistics that leads up to and during the event. This includes the planning, coordination and management of the components that make up the full event as well as the staffs that are involved in each of these aspects.

Event Management is often confused with Event Planning, as both terms are used in conjunction with each other. While event planning is focused on the designing the overall event concept, event management focuses on the execution of the event plans through the management of staff, finances and more.

Examples of activties that takes place in event management may include: selecting and reserving the venue of the event, coordinating with outside vendors, obtaining necessary permits and appropriate insurance, designing a security plan, supervising the event and resolving on-site event conflicts.

Why is event management important??

Event management is necessary to ensure that the planned event is executed smoothly. In adddition, there are many factors to consider during event management such as budget, participant size and event venue.

An event manager must be able to multitask and ensure that risk factor and costs of each stages are evaluated.

In addition, it is the event manager's responsibility to resolve any conflicts that occur during the event management process.
